Lina Zeidan Art

"Things we see, hear, smell and interact with are the visible, things we cannot see hear or touch but we can feel these are the invisible.

Evolving creativity is the secret for everyone,  for me this means to move out of my comfort zone, then I can challenge myself and surprise it.

The uncomfortable zone is the creative space."

"Gold and yellow reflects the beautiful desert surrounding Kuwait where I grew up.

Lush fresh greens and deep blues are inspired by the forests and the lakes in the Rocky Mountains, in Western Canada.

Intense radiant luminous deep reds and oranges are the red poppies in the fields of Europe.

Fresh pure whites of Edelweiss and the shimmering silver white of the snow are the reflections the Alps in Switzerland”.

ABOUT LINA

"Art is the magic tool that gives me a new dimension to a new world. It offers me new perspectives, by looking at life through a different window each day. I share my personal experiences through my art, which creates the spontaneity in my paintings.

"My technique involves using layer over layer with different mediums, reflecting my thoughts and inviting the viewer deeper into my world. I am constantly searching for and learning  new ways to express myself."

THE ARTIST

Lina Zeidan’s Art was influenced by her upbringing.

She was born and raised in Kuwait to a Lebanese family & educated in Lebanon and Canada.

Now she lives in Wollerau, Switzerland.

Traveling and moving to different countries provided a great source of inspiration and had a profound impact on her art.

Early works saw experimentation with different media’s such as pottery, wood work, folk art, guild, drawing, sculpting and oil painting.

Lina Zeidan started her artistic journey at Beirut University College in the early 80s, where she graduated with a degree in interior design.

She then went on to work with leading architects in the Middle East as an interior designer.

Following this she moved to Europe & then onto Canada where she developed a special interest in fine art & painting. Her love for painting flourished more and drove her to take different workshops in drawings, paintings and sculpting.

She enrolled in the Alberta college of art to learn more and fulfil her curiosity, this led her to start experimenting in different media and materials, breaking the traditional rules of art to create unusual pieces of art.

HER PHILOSOPHY

The theme of my art is a life-path,  as people we come to this world to build a better future and help future generations to continue and complete projects that we have left unfinished.

Influenced by our environment and circumstances our dreams become the base of our actions, I believe there are important actions which can  manifest & create our life path.

One of them is Freedom, the ability to express ourselves ideas & knowledge to build a better place for everyone.

Second,  Passion, allowing us to seek our dreams to pass experience, love & wisdom to the new generations to come, to enjoy a better world.

Third,  our Will to keep going against all odds with the aspiration and purpose to preserve our beautiful world.

The repetition of these 3 words creates the drive and opportunity bringing a new hope & new art.

We need the freedom to express ourselves and ideas, the passion to pursue our dreams, combined with the will to go on in spite of all the obstacles which we face.
